This Crazy yet not so Crazy week

This past week ended up being just a touch crazy! I was putting in a lot of hours at school and work, so it started out feeling like I was just an entity at our house, not someone living there. Thursday evening, Rayce tells me that his brother Jayson, and bro-in-law Kody were on their way here. Lets just say, with me being gone so much, our house was a pig sty. And to top it all off, Icelynn was starting to run a fever. So starting at about 6:30, I started cleaning like mad. I usually do all my cleaning on Saturdays, but last weekend I was REALLY sick, so I had 2 weeks worth of cleaning to do in ONE night. I felt like a chicken with my head cut off. My poor kids finally had their mom at home, and I wasn't eve there for them, I was cleaning. I finally gave up around 2 in the morning. It wasn't spotless, but it was presentable, plus I had been up since about 5:30 Thursday morning, so I was pooped! Knowing Icee was not feeling so well, I went up to check on her before I checked out for the night. I pressed my hand on her forehead, hoping it was just warm, only to find that it was REALLY hot. I grabbed her up, brought her downstairs to the couch, ripped her jammies off her, got cold rags on her, and let her barf in a bowl. I checked her temp, twice, with two different thermometers. it was a whopping 103.6 I then gathered her up and rushed her straight to the ER. Which ended up doing nothng for her. We got there around 2:30, her heart rate was 167 (normal in a child is about 100 beats per minutes), her resperatory rate was about 30 (normal in a child is about 25ish breaths per minute), and her oxygen saturation was only about 88%. Apparently to the stuped Dr.s and nurses here at this hospital, that meant nothing to them. They didn't even give her anything for her fever until about 4:30 (two hours after we got there!) I was furious! We got home around 6, with her feeling better, and the knowledge that she had a really bad Urinary Tract Infection. When we got home, I did a few more things to dity up around the house, and was in bed by 7. Only to wake up at 8 to get Shylee up and ready for school and about the same time Jayson, Kody, and our friend Pat got there. So after an hour of sleep, it was time to be the host. It was a little crazy on such little sleep, but I LOVE when company comes, so I put on my happy face and go on with life. It was really nice to have the boys around. My kids really miss having Jayson and his wife Tahnea around. Jayson lived with us the first year we lived here, then only 4 houses down from us the next year after they got married. He has a special place in their hearts for him, and was supper excited to have him come to visit.

In order to keep my kids entertained, I bought these little ceramic figures at Michaels for the kids to paint. I think it was the best money ever spent. Each pack came with 2 diffrent figures, paint and a paint brush. They were only ONE dollar. An hour worth of ocupation for 3 kids for $3. Nuf Said!

A new thing in our house:
Rayce has decieded to pursue something that he has wanted to do for about 10 years now. He has decided to become a tattoo artist. He has been aprenticing for about 2 weeks now, and will hopefully be ready to be doing his own tattoos by summer! His aprenticeship has been free! (Normally you pay to apprentice, and you have to do it for about 2 years before you can do it on your own!!!) The guy at the shop LOVES him, and wants Rayce working for him ASAP. So to practice, and also earn a little extra $ is temparary tattoos. I never really liked tattoos, but Rayce put this one on my this weekend and I really like it. So, when I get down to my ideal weight, I am going to get one similar to this one done!

If you remember a few posts back, I told you about the Troll that Rayce made for one of his classes, well, here it is. Shylee is terrified of it, but it is pretty cool.

That troll is SO cool! I think it would have scared me pretty bad when I was that age too...lol. Rayce really is an amazing artist. Can't wait to see your little family. Talk to you soon.
